The Chris Giwa group on Monday said its members have not been barred from entering the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation, popularly called Glass House.
Chris Giwa, the proprietor of Giwa FC is laying claim to the NFF presidency courtesy of a court order annulling the 2015 elective Congress held in Warri, Delta state.
A statement by Effiong Johnson, reads:
“Our attention has been called to the very unprofessional, biased and unpolished use of the African Independent Television (AIT) to run propaganda against the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their bar scroll where they falsely claimed the government banned us from the Glass House.
“The Federal Government has not barred us from entering our office as the TV station had wrongly claimed.
“We promised the nation to be in the office today. However, the Board has decided to hold its meeting to deliberate on our programme of activities and how to use football to develop and employ our youths.
“A situation where media institutions are used to spread deliberate falsehood in the name of news is very unfortunate.
“It is so sad that the Editors of the organisation will not respect ethical conducts and prescriptions of journalism’s principles of fair play, balance and neutrality.
“In view of the foregoing, we seek common sense to prevail as a continued distortion of the truth is not only maligning but slandering our individual and corporate integrities.
“We demand like a responsible media organization they will work within the ethics of journalism.”
