The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command, on Wednesday decorated three newly promoted senior officers and seven marshals in the state with their ranks.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that two officers were promoted from the rank of Assistance Corp Commander (ACC) to Deputy Corps Commander (DCC), while one was promoted from Assistant Route Commander (ARC) to Deputy Route Commander (DRC).
Mr Ezekiel SonAllah, FRSC State Sector Commander, while decorating the officers and marshals, urged them to see their elevation as additional responsibility.
SonAllah said the vision of FRSC was to eradicate road traffic crashes and ensure safe motoring environment in the country.
“Remember that to whom much is given much is expected and the reward of hard work is more work because some of you will be giving additional responsibility particularly the two unit commanders that were promoted to deputy corps commander.
“So, elevation comes with enormous responsibility, you must double your efforts now, you must work harder than before and live up to expectations,” he said.
SonAllah, who decried the two crashes that occurred within two days where eight people died in the state, called on motorists to join hands with the command to ensure zero crashes in the state.
He, therefore, appealed to passengers to always caution drivers whenever they are speeding, saying drivers should not drive beyond or above the prescribed speed limit.
According to him, all hands must be on deck because road safety is a collective responsibility.
“I want to appeal to our parents to continue to propagate the messages of safety anywhere they find themselves as a driver, pedestrian or passenger.

“We must stop these crashes, we cannot continue like this.
“We have lost eight people in just two days crashes; so, we know we have a lot to do; we must double our efforts to ensure there are zero crashes on our roads,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, Jacqueline Bamidele, Deputy Corps Commander (DCC), appreciated the Corps Marshal for counting them worthy to be promoted. (NAN)
