The Super Falcons arrived Meizhou, China on Tuesday (today) morning ahead of their participation at the four-nation invitational tournament in the country, reports Prompt News Online.
20 players including top stars; Tochukwu Oluehi, Onome Ebi, Francisca Ordega, Rita Chikwelu, Ngozi Okobi made the trip for the competition.
The duo of former African best female footballer, Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie were however left out of the squad.
Thomas Dennerby’s charges will face hosts, the Steel Roses of China in their opening game of the competition on Thursday.
Romania and South Korea are the other teams that are participating in the competition.
The competition will run from January 16th to 21st.
The African champions will also participate in another invitational competition tagged the Cyprus Cup in February 2019.
The West Africans will face Belgium, Austria and Slovakia in Group B of the competition.
The Super Falcons will use the invitational competitions to fine tune strategies ahead of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
They are drawn against hosts France, Norway and Korea Republic in Group A for the 2019 World Cup.
