A Grade I Area Court Mpape, Abuja, on Monday sentenced a 20-year-old applicant, Favour Fidelis, to six months in prison for stealing N40, 000 from Polaris Ban
The Judge, Salihu Ibrahim, sentenced Fidelis after she pleaded guilty to stealing the N40,000.
Ibrahim, however, gave her an option to pay a fine of N10,000.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Austin Urom, told the court that the case was reported at the Mpape Police Station by the complainant, Abdulsamad Lawal, who resides in Mpape Abuja, on May 24.
Urom said the convict and one other, at large, stole N40, 000 from his account in Polaris bank.
He said that the convict was arrested following police investigation.
The prosecution the convict used the money to buy clothes and shoes.
Urom said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 95 and 287 of the Penal Code.
