Apparently to make room for other good players to try their luck in the national team, the technical crew of the national U-17 women’s football team, Flamingos are set to decamp no fewer than 12 players who are found not to be measuring up to the standard even as a few new faces will be invited to fight for shirts ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African qualifier first round first leg match between Nigeria and Guinea billed for March 1, in Conakry.
Prompt News has exclusively gathered today in Abuja that the players who have been declared excess to requirement will be sent back to their clubs from Wednesday, February 12, 2020 while the coaching crew led Coach Abimbola Olowookere will invite new set of players as they intensify the search for quality players who will not only help Nigeria to defeat Guinea home and away but go all the way to pick the World Cup ticket.
Meanwhile, the Flamingos which defeated Mees Football Academy Abuja 3-2 in a test match at FIFA Goal Project pitch Abuja last Saturday have continued their two training sessions par day in a bid to maximize the two weeks period left for the coaches to present a team of 21 players who will persecute the away match in Conakry against Guinea on March 1, 2020.
Nigeria was bundled out by Cameroon in the second round of the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup edition in Uruguay hence the need for the country which has not missed any edition but the last is preparing well to confront Guinea.
