From Dozzy Samuel, Benin City Nigeria’s U-17 Women’s Football Team Flamingos have declared war on thier opponents from Ethiopia in Saturday’s return leg match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers.
The crucial encounter billed for Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City Edo State capital has been seen by the coaches and players of the junior women’s football team as a do or die affair.
This much was disclosed by Flamingos goalkeepers coach, Christian Obi who hinted that the players are primed to feast on the Ethiopian girls when they both clash again on Saturday in Benin City.
According to him the players have learnt from their mistakes in the 1-1 draw in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia a fortnight ago.
“We have worked hard to put the players in the right frame of mind for the battle ahead of us. We don’t have option than to take the fight to our opponents and by the Grace of God will win well”, he said.
Obi, a former junior international goalpoacher said Nigerians should expect victory from the Flamingos but urge the citizens to pray for the team.
