Christopher Danjuma, who has just been reappointed head coach of the national U-20 female team, Falconets, has said his second missionary journey with the team is to lift the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy billed for early next year.
Speaking to Prompt News, he said since his reappointment as the head coach of the team, he has been in contact with the players he intends to use to prosecute the world cup.
The coach said he has lined up physical and mental training for the girls as he hopes that ban on football by the Federal Government due to COVID-19 will be soon lifted.
“I know the task ahead is a very huge one especially when it comes to female football. Because football has been on recess for long time and couple with the female league that has been on recess close to one year, to bring back the girls to fitness takes a longer time than male.
“I have no fear that the girls will respond positively as soon as we resume training. Though they have been training individually and at the club level but the most effective training is league competitions which give coaches opportunity to assess the players positively.
” I have already drawn my programmes for the world cup. My target is to win the world cup to make history in Nigeria and Africa.
Danjuma further disclosed that he has made contact with girls that will be invited for immediate camping as soon as football ban is lifted by the Federal Government.
