By Paul Efiong The federal government has reiterated its readiness to work with the informal sector in the country to develop the Niger Delta region.
The minister of Niger Delta, Usani Uguru Usani stated this on Tuesday in his office while playing host to the national leadership of the Road Transport Employer Association (RTEAN).
According to the minister, government is ever prepared to work with any organization on issues that could impact positively on the welfare and wellbeing of Nigerians no matter where and who is involved.
In his welcome address, the leader and head of RTEAN delegation who is also the National president of RTEAN, Musa Shehu Ishewele said the visit was to establish the needed synergy and identify other areas of interest that might impact positively on Nigerians and youths in particular.
The group maintained that the association is an umbrella body for all transporter owners in the transportation business in Nigeria.
RTEAN, according to its national President was established by degree 21 and 22 of 1978 as amended and presently listed @ N0 29 3rd schedule, part c of the trade union Act T 14 laws of the federation.
They also used the opportunity provided by the visit to express their support to the federal government, adding that the change mantra should be supported by well-meaning Nigerians.
