The Federal Government has hailed the gallant Super Eagles for soaring to the finals of the ongoing Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast after a scintillating victory over the Bafana Bafana of South African.
Speaking Thursday in his office at Abuja National Stadium, the Minister of Sports Development Senator John Owan Enoh extols the Nigerian spirit and resilience of the players in the highly contested match which saw them fly over the Rainbow Boys to secure the ticket against the host country Ivory Coast at the final of the Football tournament.
A statement issued by the director of Press Kehinde Ajayi reads:
“We have group of young men that are thirsty for glory and success that have been lifting the spirit of the country, and there is no better time to do that than now.”
The Minister urged Nigerians to remain focused and never to relent in their support for the team as the final match against the Elephants of Cote d’ivore will not be easy especially being the host country and our reality is to break the Ten years jinx by bringing home the trophy
“The reality of this country is such that we are at the top of everything we do and through football we are coming back to that goal and reality. Let us remain prayerful and focused because our final match will be with the host country and it’s going to be a mean match.”
The Minister has noted that the Super Eagles of Nigeria has justified President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda with their performance at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast. READ ALSO:

While expressing his confidence in the players ability to lift the Trophy, the minister called on well meaning Nigerians and Private Sectors to join hands with the government by investing into Sports as it will go a long way in motivating the players to victory as well as bring happiness to the country,
“If there is one activity that brings happiness to Nigerians it is sports.” He says.
