Abuja Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has commended the appointment and various moves made so far by the new Sports and Youths Minister, Solomon Dalung, describing him as one Man Nigerian Sports needs at the moment.
In a press release by the highly respected professional body, its Chairman, Kayode Adeniyi expressed optimism that Nigerian Sports would soon experience a new lease of life going by the quality of the new helmsman in charge.
Adeniyi who is particularly happy with the disposition of the new Minister to work with the Staff of National Sports Commission, Stakeholders and especially Sports Writers noted that his body language speaks volume of the commitment of the present administration in the country’s sports development.
“We have no doubt on the person of Dalung going by the things he has done in various positions he held in the past and if you have observe, his utterances and action so far have shown he is ready to work.
“All the new minister needs is the support of all stakeholders because he can’t carry out his lofty idea alone. When he was named many People didn’t really know who he is but within few days he has proved his readiness to work. And so, as an association, we are ready to give him all necessary support.
“From what we heard of him right from when he was a local government chairman in Plateau, we are very confident on his ability to deliver at the federal level.”
Dalung who was appointed barely two weeks ago has been meeting with major players within the sports sector. He has equally begun inspection of sports facilities, an indication of his desire to march words with action.
