In fulfilment of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the management of Nigeria Breweries Plc has said no fewer than 24 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have benefited from the 2023 Nigeria Breweries Plc/ITF Skills Empowerment Programme.
This is even as he said that through this collaboration with ITF in the FCT, the company is delighted to have successfully trained 70 young men and women who were identified from different communities in the nation’s capital through a robust Needs Assessment.
The MD/CEO who spoke through Mrs. Sade Morgan, Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc during the graduation ceremony and distribution of start-up packs to beneficiaries of the 2023 Nigeria Breweries Plc/ITF Skills Empowerment Programme in Abuja on Thursday, November 30, 2023, promised that the company will sustain the empowerment programme which he said is a novel partnership with the ITF.
Welcoming guests at the event attended by the FCT Minister Chief Nyesom Wike and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, both represented, on Thursday, Hans Essaadi said: “This ceremony is the culmination of a journey that has been marked by dedication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to empowering our young men and women with the skills needed to thrive as entrepreneurs”.
He expressed the company’s gratitude to the ITF for their unwavering support and collaboration throughout the programme, saying “Our partnership exemplifies the strength that emerges when like-minded organizations come together to address the challenges of our time. With this initiative, we have not only trained individuals but also laid the foundation for a more skilled and competitive workforce”.
Speaking further he said the graduation is the start of an exciting phase for the 1000 young women and men who have dedicated their time, energy, and resources to become industrious and responsible citizens.
Said he: “We are delighted to note the diverse and significant number of beneficiaries selected through the Needs Assessments carefully executed by the Nigerian Breweries Plc and the ITF Area Managers in these States: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Lagos, Rivers, Imo, Oyo, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Ogun, Kaduna, Anambra, Kogi, Delta, Ondo, Kano, Kebbi, Borno, Niger, Sokoto, Adamawa, Benue, Edo & Plateau States and the FCT”.
“Through this collaboration in the Federal Capital Territory, we are delighted to have successfully trained 70 young men and women who were identified from different communities through a robust needs assessment”.
According to him: “Today, we are celebrating their completion of intensive trainings in trade and skill areas such as: Electrical installation, phone repairs, solar power installation, hair dressing and beauty care, POP and painting, leather works, in addition to wig and cap making.
“These participants and others across 24 states and the FCT have completed an intensive three-month training Programme that has empowered them with the skills required to fend for themselves and create economic value for their communities.
Each of them will be further empowered with starter packs required to give them a head start in their different endeavors”.
Hans Essaadi disclosed that the NB Plc Empowerment Programme which started in 2019 was inspired by an ancient principle that “you cannot succeed as a business without investing in the communities where you operate”. READ ALSO:

Said he: “This belief has guided Nigerian Breweries over the past 77 years and has birthed several CSR initiatives across Nigeria.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of our participants, we reflect on the broader impact of this initiative. Let us not view this ceremony as the end of a program but rather as the beginning of a new chapter. I encourage each participant to continue seeking knowledge, adapting to change, and embracing new challenges.
“The skills and equipment acquired during this training are not just tools for today but assets for a lifetime.
In closing, let me express my profound gratitude to the Industrial Training Fund who have become our valuable partner on this journey, the dedicated trainers, mentors and everyone involved in making this program a resounding success.
