Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti has approved the appointment of Mr Adekunle Adeyemi as acting General Manager of the State Sports Council.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that that Adeyemi, until his appointment, was Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
The new acting general manager is taking over from Chief Deji Samo who is retiring from active service on Sept. 5.
The statement also said that the governor had approved the appointment of Mrs Olusola Osetoba as the substantive Chairman of the State Sports Council with effect from July 29.
It said that Osetoba’s appointment was sequel to her satisfactory performance as acting chairman of the council.
“The governor is hopeful that the duo will justify the confidence reposed in them and ensure repositioning of the council for greater service delivery,” the statement said. (NAN)
