The Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, Zamfara has been ranked first in the 2023 ICPC Ethics and Integrity Compliance Score card (EICS) and ACTU Effectiveness Index (AEI) for FMC nationwide.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Friday, by the FMC Head of Administration, Lawali Bungudu.
Bungudu said that the ranking was made known in the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) letter of conveyance referenced ICPC/SSRD/EICS/AEI/KAT/PD/2023 to the hospital.
He said that the ranking was sequel to the deployment and ratings of assessed Ministry Department and Agencies (MDAs) by the ICPC.
“ICPC is inclined to initiatives, measures and programmes that hold public agencies, bodies and their officials accountable and ethical.”
The Medical Director, FMC Gusau, Dr. Bello Mohammed, while reacting to the rating, described it as a timely and welcome development.
“This success did not come to me as a surprise because of the measures we put in place to ensure that Ethics and Integrity Compliance are promoted and sustained in this center.

“We expressed his happiness over the report and said that the ranking by the ICPC was a challenge for us to do more while fighting all forms of corruption within the centre.
“We will continue supporting the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) of this centre,” he said.
He called on all staff and unions in the centre to support the management in getting rid of all forms of corruption in the FMC Gusau. (NAN)
