The Enugu State Fire Service, on Monday, celebrated the restoration of water supply to its main office, after four years of scarcity.
The Director, Enugu State Fire Service, Mr Okwudiri Ohaa, who led the celebration by workers in a viral video, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that Gov. Peter Mbah had made the job of fire fighting simpler for the organisation.
Ohaa said that water and its availability remained the most important commodity in the business of fire-fighting.
He described the development as “a bold statement that Mbah is a promise keeper”.
He said that soon the service would also revive its various water hydrants in strategic locations in Enugu metropolis and its outskirts; where its fire-fighting trucks and tanks could get water easily and quick.
Ohaa said: “Earlier today, we experienced an astonishing development – our taps were finally running.
“This incredible development fills us with immense gratitude to the governor for delivering on his promise.
“In just 110 days in office, the governor has already brought about significant changes.
“The presence of water in our office is a game-changer, sparing us the hassle of constantly visiting the Works’ office to fetch water.
“As you can imagine, water is essential to the service and we cannot express enough how truly grateful we are to the governor for turning our dreams into reality.”
Ohaa said that “this remarkable milestone was a reminder that “our tomorrow is here”.
“We salute the governor and his team for their unwavering dedication to improving the lives of residents,” he said. (NAN). READ ALSO:
