The enlarged national security council meeting summoned by President Goodluck Jonathan will now hold on Thursday.
It is expected to be attended by the 36 State Governors, the Service Chiefs and other members of the National Security Council.
Prompt news learnt the meeting was shifted because of the Cabinet meeting that holds every Wednesday.
Governor Godswil Akpabio of Akwa Ibom who doubles as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, had last week announced that a meeting that will involve all the 36 state governors would hold on Wednesday (today) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Akpabio fielded questions from State House correspondents after the PDP governors held a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan that discussed national security and attended by the Service Chiefs.
Surprisingly and curiously, the All Progressives Congress governors were absent at the meeting while their counterparts from the Labour Party, Olusegun Mimiko and Wille Obiano of APGA were present.
President Jonathan had summoned an enlarged security meeting so that members of the National Security Council and the State Governors could deliberate on national security and generate ideas on the way forward.
It will be recalled that the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the recent bomb blast at Nyanya, a suburb of the capital City, Abuja.
There have also been frequent attacks in the north east, including abduction of hundreds of school girls in Borno.
On Monday, the APC leadership announced the cancellation of its State congresses to enable its governors attend the Wednesday meeting that has now been shifted till Thursday.
