Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the inability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to see itself as the ruling party in the country and do away with needless propaganda that the people are no longer falling for will lead to the failure of the Muhammadu Buhari government.
The PDP, in a statement in Ado-Ekiti by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Jackson Adebayo, said it was unfortunate that almost eight months after taken over power at the federal level, the APC still sees itself as the opposition that must run down other parties with needless propaganda.
The PDP said there was no way a government run through propaganda would achieve anything tangible and that Nigerians have seen through the deluge of lies that APC deceived them with to take over power at the centre and which is not capable of sustaining the party there.
Adebayo said from the administration’s selective fight against corruption, to the inconsistent economic policies and lack of respect for the rule of law, there were indicators that the administration lacked the blueprint to effectively govern the country, but that the party only relied on propaganda and name calling to sustain itself in office.
“Who are the members of Buhari’s economic team? The government since it was inaugurated has been advancing and reversing which proves that it has no clear cut policy and direction. Buhari administration can only be said to have done very well in propaganda. It has been engaging in policy somersault, leading to great economic woes on the Nigerian people,” he said.
The PDP spokesman maintained that all the warnings of the Governor of Ekiti State Mr Ayodele Fayose, about the incompetence of the President were fast becoming a reality because APC believed in the use of propaganda as an instrument of promotion of Federal Government’s policies.
“As the ruling party, APC is expected to be looking deep into the policies of its government and finding ways by which Nigerians and the whole world would be educated so that there would not be misconceptions or outright rejection of the government. However, the APC would not do the norm, rather it dissipates energy on propaganda to cover-up the inadequacies of its government.
“The time is fast approaching when nobody will take the government serious again because it would have failed the people of Nigeria who thought that Buhari is the Messiah, as the party continues in its negligence of reality for deliberate falsehoods,” he stated.
The PDP added that the Ekiti State APC was even worse in this ignoble celebration of falsehoods, saying that the opposition party in the state had been so immature and puerile in attacking the state governor.
According to the PDP , Nigerians should continue to pray for the government , especially President Buhari not to crash the democracy which both old and young laboured to enthrone.
