The Police Command in Osun says it has put in place adequate arrangements to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
A statement by the command’s Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, assured residents of the protection of their lives and property before, during and after the celebration.
“The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba is assuring residents, including travellers of the readiness and preparedness of the state command to guarantee the safety of lives and property in all major and strategic locations during this period and beyond.
“Just as he is assuring residents, most importantly commuters plying the highways of appropriate visibility policing and constant vehicular patrols.
“The CP is equally advising the motorists/motorcyclists (Okada) to drive/ride carefully especially in this festive period while plying the highways.
“He enjoined members of the public to comport themselves in accordance with the provisions of the law, be vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or infractions of the law to the Police for immediate action,” the statement read.
