BENIN-CITY – Edo State lawmakers have impeached the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
The Speaker, Hon. Victor Edoror and his deputy were impeached on Tuesday.
They were accused of incompetence and high-handedness, following which they were impeached by 15 members out of the 24-member of the Assembly.
Meanwhile, a new speaker Mrs Elizabeth Ativie was elected to take charge of the Assembly.
