In order to passionately achieve the Federal Government’s policy on the Ease of Doing Business, the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) has commenced a major training for some of its strategic staff.
The one-week intensive training has been carefully organized at the Auditorium of the Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Mabushi District, Abuja, for selected staff from all strata across AGIS to drive home this very important policy of the Federal Government to further help push up Nigeria in the World Bank index.
The Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Abuja Geographic Information Systems, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Jalo, who spoke to the trainees at the occasion harp on the importance of evolving a Civil Service culture that can effectively and proactively drive policies of the government.
The Director said that it is the duty of the Civil Servants to implement the policies of the government and therefore such drivers must be well equipped and prepared for such job.
He reiterated that AGIS must be repackaged to meet this aspiration of the government, whilst AGIS remain an Agency of the FCT Administration that has direct relationship with people.
Dr. Jalo said that it’s the wish of the Management to reposition AGIS for better results in compliance with the SERVICOM Charter thereby scaling down to the actualization of the Ease of Doing Business.
He enjoined the trainees to be attentive throughout the programme to have a take home so that whatever learnt will translate on their daily performance as this will go a long way to assist Nigeria move higher on the subsequent ratings by the Bretton Woods.
The Director revealed that the Customer Service of AGIS / Land Administration attends to about 964 customers on the average on daily basis at its Front Desk, and that everything must be done to serve these persons better.
His words: “We must be proactive to find new ways of attending to the ever-influx of people into the complex, because that is what the government expects of us.”
According to him, “we cannot afford to fail and therefore we must do everything possible to meet the expectations of the government by improving our services to Nigerians.”
It may be noted that this first batch of special training that is expected to wind up on Friday February 14, 2020 has 92 staff of AGIS currently participating .
