Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Ikpeba has tipped the Golden Eagles to emerge from their group and go all the way to the final of this year’s edition of the U- 17 World Cup holding in United Arab Emirates.
Nigeria is drawn in Group F alongside Mexico, Iraq and Sweden in yesterday’s draws conducted in Dubai, UAE.
“I have followed this Golden Eaglets team right from the beginning when they started screening and I am very impressed with what the technical crew has been doing with the team. ” They want to succeed. So far they have really done well.
“They should be the team to beat when the competition kicks off in United Arab Emirates in October. I am happy that the team has learnt their lesson in Morocco where they lost to Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the African Youth Championship.
“Now they know it is not going to be easy when they file out against the rest of the world in the U- 17 World Cup”.
Ikpeba, however, urged Nigerians not to put undue pressure on the team because the essence of competing in this kind of competition is for developmental reason.
