By Omobolaji Oyegunle, LONDON – Super Eagles and Tranzbonspor of Turkey midfielder, Ogenzy Onazi has urged Nigerians not to write the team’s off after the country’s poor performance against Serbia in London.
The midfielder, who stated this at the team’s hotel in London, said you cannot use friendly games to judge the country’s preparation for the World Cup.
”I don’t want Nigerians to judge us with this performance. This is a friendly game and the coach is trying all available players invited to camp in order to come up with the best.
“And mind you, at the proper World Cup games, point is at stake compared to friendly where nothing is at stake” he explained.
Onazi, who further told Prompt News Online that Nigeria do not fear any country in her group including Messi led Argentina team that they will surely qualify from the group.
”Some people think we will not qualify from our group because of Argentina and others but am telling you that we will qualify despite the fact that Argentina and Messi are the favourites. We have young and youthful players, determined to make the country proud”.
