By Mohammed Yangida, Lafia The Secretary of PDP Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin has cautioned the people of Nasarawa state against voting on religious sentiment in the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Jibrin gave the advice when leading the party’s governorship campaign tour in Karu, the headquarters of Karu Local Government area of the state.
He also cautioned supporters of PDP and the entire Karu community not to allow themselves to be used by selfish politicians to engage in violence either during or after the general elections.
“I am appealing to all people of Karu to vote both Jonathan and PDP governorship candidate,
Dr. Yusuf Agabi, irrespective of your religion or party affiliation all we need is peace and progress.”
Wali, who said the total collapse of socio-economic activities in Nasarawa state was regrettable, urged the people of the community to reverse the trend by voting PDP candidates during the February polls.
Responding, the PDP state party chairman, Yunana Iliya, said APC’s rule in Nasarawa State has come to an end.
He lamented that farmers have been completely paralyzed from going to their farms as a result of violence.
