Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, on Monday upheld the election of Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of the State.
The chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Nasir Gunmi, while delivering the judgment dismissed the petition filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking nullification of the election.
The APC candidate, Otega Emerhor, had filed a petition challenging the declaration of Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP as the winner of April 11, 2015 governorship election in the state, urging the Tribunal to order fresh elections.
In the same vein, Plateau State Election Tribunal upheld the election of Governor Simon Lalong of the APC.
In its ruling, the Chairman of the three-man Tribunal, Justice Johnson Candide, dismissed the petition filed by the PDP governorship candidate, GNS Pwajok for lack of merit.
