The Delta House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed the appointment of six additional nominees as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Dennis Guwor, announced the confirmation after the screening of the nominees during plenary in Asaba.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori had, in a letter, stated that the request was in pursuant to the powers conferred on him by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.
NAN reports that the nominees were called one after the other to answer questions from members of the assembly.
The nominees are: Mr Sunday Tataobuogwu, Mr Peter Uviejitobor, Mr Val Areyinka, Mr Trakiriowei ThankGod, Mr Ebikeme Clark and Mr Benjamin Okocha.
The speaker congratulated the nominees on their appointment and urged them to work toward achieving the ‘MORE Agenda of the governor for the betterment of the people of the state.(NAN).
