Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick, received a big boost on Wednesday with the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung and Senator Obinna Ogba at its extra-ordinary Congress holding at Chida Hotel, Abuja.
The Minister has been criticised lately for allegedly giving the Chris Giwa-led backing to create confusion in Nigerian Football.
But, he cleared the air at the Congress saying he had not received any court order from the Giwa group and charged the NFF Congress to discipline any erring member.
Also, the presence of Senator Obinna Ogba, who chaired the Senate Committee on Sports further confirms crack within the opponent camp.
Giwa has been parading Senator Obinna Ogba as a key member of his group and even named him as the chairman, Organising & Disciplinary Committee.
Ogba, who attended the Congress alongside two other Senators and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Sports, said he had to attend to clear his name because so many things had been written about him in the media of late.
It is expected that the Congress would sanction Giwa and key members of his group.
Interestingly, Chris Giwa-led faction also announced on Tuesday at a news conference in Abuja, that it would hold its Congress today (Wednesday).
However, as at the time of filling this report, it could not be ascertained if the Congress is holding and the venue.
