The Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) on Monday approved the new constitution of the federation as amended by the General Congress.
A communiqué issued in Abuja at the end of CFN Annual General Assembly in Abuja and signed by Giandomenico Massari, President of CFN said that the general assembly resolved that all cycling clubs in Nigeria should be affiliate to the federation through their respective state cycling associations.
It also resolved that any club or state that intends to organise any competition that involves more than three states in attendance must involve the federation.
The general assembly approved that clubs would hence forth pay an annual subscription of N10,000.00 while states cycling associations would pay N20,000 as annual subscription fee.
The assembly also approved N3, 000 as annual licence fee for anybody having anything to do with cycling.
“Jan. 1 has been fixed as deadline for the payment of subscription and licence fees with a window of grace to elapse by March 31 of every year.
“The subscription will attract a fine after the grace period,’’ the communiqué said.
The communiqué expressed disappointment at the incidence which involved some officials and cyclists of Rivers where a female cyclist was beating up during a race in Port Harcourt.
The general assembly authorised the CFN Board to compel the Rivers State Cycling Association to investigate the matter and submit its report for further necessary action.
The congress passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the federation while endorsing the new logo of the federation.
