Enesi Habib, one of Nigeria’s top cricket umpires, says officiating the final of the women’s cricket event at the African Games in Ghana , would be one of the highpoints of his career.
The Cricket South Africa (CSA) Level 3 umpire is the only Nigerian among 10 other umpires to officiate at the inaugural cricket event at the Games.
Habib, who was third umpire for the final of the women’s event between Zimbabwe and South Africa on Wednesday, said he would relish the experience for a very long time.
“Since I started officiating in 2018, this is my biggest event so far and to officiate as third umpire in the final of the women’s event, is even more amazing.
“I am thankful for the opportunity and hope that I will continue to put in my best in all I do, and look forward to more matches and become a mentor to the young ones,” he said.
