That month of forgiveness, mercy and blessing is here at last. The Month of Ramadan in which it is a Command to observe Fasting for 30/29 days for the freeborn, free of encumbered of sickness and burden of journey.
Ramadan is generally revolving round the seasons. The reason for this is due to the fact that the Lunar Calendar is 11(2/3rd) days less of the Solar dates in a year. This will be period its observation will be in Spring or Fall, Winter or Summer, Rainy or Dry Season or Harmattan!
Sometimes it falls on a shorter day and longer night, longer day and shorter night. The thrill of it is that seasons are not fixed to favour a particular region or culture. As we say in this part of the world, Ramadan is a leveller. The feeling between the haves and have nots is mutual. The reward however is mutually exclusive.
You’re rewarded as an individual not minding the commonality of it. Your connection with the Almighty at this point in time determine the quality of your reward from the Commander of the Order to Fast, Allah s.w.t.
This is the period to lay bare our needs, desires and seek for forgiveness, mercy and blessing. Most importantly, seek for ease from this #COVID-19 pandemic, pray for economic recovery for family and nation. We should however not forget to pray for the seek and forgiveness for those that passed on with the pandemic.
Q(2:45)
وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ
And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah ]
Your will obey the Almighty, devote worship to Allah, Supplicate Allah s.w.t and trust Allah s.w.t knowing that in Allah let the believers put their trust .
