A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday ordered that a 42-year-old man, James Anietie,who allegedly defiled his 11-year-old daughter, be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Service, pending legal advice.
Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwaka, who did not take the plea of Anietie ordered that the case file be returned to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
Nwaka adjourned the case until March 2 for mention,
Anietie , who resides at No. 33, Ijaiya St., Agege, Lagos State, is charged with defilement.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Christopher John, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 24, at 11p.m at his residence.
John said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
