An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a man, Mohammed Isiaka, for alleged defilement of a three-year-old girl.
Magistrate M.O. Tanimola ordered that 48-year-old Isiaka should be kept at the Kirikiri custodial facility pending advice of the state director of public prosecutions.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the court did not take the plea of the defendant.
Tanimola adjourned the case until March 1 for mention.
The prosecutor. Insp Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 25, on Adebimpe Street, Kosofe, Mile 12, Ketu, Lagos State.
Perezi submitted that the defendant defiled the toddler by using his finger to penetrate her vagina.
“According to the child’s mother, on that fateful day, the defendant brought the child to her from her friend’s place.
“She was bathing her daughter and discovered blood stains on her vagina.

“The defendant told her not to escalate the matter and said he would give her the sum of N20,000,” the prosecutor said.
The alleged offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
