By Gracious Akujobi The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) is organizing a two-day Cricket Administrative Programme (CAP) course for its administrators.
President of NCF Emeka Onyeama told Prompt News in Abuja on Friday, that the course which is organised by International Cricket Council (ICC) would hold between January 10 and 11 in Abuja.
Onyeama said that administrators from 18 states in the country would participate in the course which is expected to improve the knowledge of cricket administrators in Nigeria and around the world.
He also added that the course will be conducted by an ICC Instructor Mr Emeka Igwilo and supported by Mr Joseph Eshua, the General Manager of NCF.
“The cricket administrative course is a course that prepares administrators of the game to be innovative
“Cricket is now a full corporate entity where you are expected to post both profit and loss at the end of the year
“So, this course creates that platform and enablement to produce cricketers who can run programmes in a format that is admissible internationally
“The course also enables administrators to organise cricket events on their own; this has to do with small cricket office, associations being ran by coaches and games masters” he stated.
Onyeama also announced that there will be NCF meeting on January 13 to enable them review the activities of 2014 and map out strategies for 2015.
