By Harry Awurumibe Olympic medallist Chika Chukwumereije has said that the development and promotion of Taekwondo should be paramount on the mind of anybody who wants the sport to grow than struggling for position.
Speaking Saturday in Abuja at a media parley to set the record straight on the imbroglio in the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Chukwumereije who has won many medals for Nigeria lampooned the struggle for position instead of fighting for athletes’ welfare and the development of the sport.
The Olympian who physically displayed all the medals he had won in Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Africa Games and many international and local events wondered why someone who cannot match his achievements can be boasting and launching media war on the federation new leadership.
Said he Chika has won at the national and international levels, I have degrees in various fields and l wonder why someone who cant match what l have achieved and still remain humble will want to claim what he is not.
The media parley was attended by the NTF new president Margareth Elizabeth Binga and other members .
