Christian faithful in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja joined their counterparts in Nigeria and across the world to mark Good Friday, to relieve the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The day which is also called Passion Friday featured the citations of ‘The Seven Words on the Cross’, these are the actual words said by Jesus Christ, the Saviour on the Cross of Calvary on the day He was killed by the Jews.
Good Friday service in all orthodox churches are conducted in solemnity and required worshippers be in absolute concentration and quiet atmosphere.
It is essentially a Service of Devotion which required the priests, clergy and many of the faithful wearing black clothes to depict the mood of the day.
Speaking on the significance Good Friday, Vicar of Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Duboyi ( ACORD), Abuja, Venerable Oluwaseun Owoeye asks Christian faithful to emulate Jesus Christ’s perseverance and to stay the course even in the face of difficulties.
