Kano state government has cautioned residents on maintenance of personal and environmental hygiene, as it moves to control the spread of cholera in the state.
The state Commissioner for health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN ) on Tuesday, saying government was doing its best to control the situation.
He said inspite the control of the situation, it was vital for people to be vigilant and take precautionary measures.
“People must refrain from using water from sanitary sources and avoid open defacation, as well as ensure proper disposal of human waste in their communities,” the Commissioner emphasised.
NAN recalls that some local government areas in the state recorded cases of cholera a month ago, which caused a lot of panic amonsgt residents. (NAN)
