Chairman Anambra State Football Association, Chikelu Iloanusi has vowed to petition the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, over the continued participation of Abia Warriors and Enyimba football clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, which is against FIFA rule.
The Ex-International who made his intention known in Abuja during the induction of new clubs to NNL said if the NFF Board led by Ibrahim Gusau fail to act on the petition he would step up the petition to CAF and FIFA where he will get justice.
” Look FIFA rule states that no state government or individual should sponsored two clubs in one competition. Enyimba and Abia Warriors are financed by the Abia State Government , so is the two clubs merged as one or Abia Warriors should be scraped. I will fight the last to ensure that Abia Warriors is scraped hence Emeka Inyama stopped by election into into the board of NFF in Benin, Edo State Capital.
Continuing, “it was the petition of Abia Warriors Chairman on the floor of NFF Elective Congress to stopped the 2nd representative of South East after Anyansi elected as Vice President.”. Chikelu claimed.
He said having waited for so long after the Edo election for justice to be done for South East and NFF is not forthcoming with solution, going to FIFA and CAF will be the best option.
