ABUJA – By Paul Efiong Nigeria Police again on Tuesday, prevented members of #BringBackOurGirls from staging a peaceful protest in Abuja, claiming they had no police permit to do so.
The series of protests by the #BBOG in the last two weeks were prompted by the last video of about 50 abducted Chibok Girls released by the Boko Haram insurgents.
In the video, the Boko Haram sect asked the government to release some of its leaders in the custody of security agencies in exchange for the girls.
But on Tuesday, a new group emerged that appears to be pro-federal government, claiming that the #BringBackOurGirls team was out to frustrate the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group blocked the BBOG protesters joined over 200 policemen drafted to prevent them from marching to the Presidential Villa.
Leader of the BBOG group and former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, took to the Twitter to explain how they were prevented by the Police from pasting the photographs of the abducted Chibok girls on the road to Aso Rock.
