Nigeria’s Chief Of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, on Thursday has inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Africa Military Games, Abuja 2024.
Represented by the CDS, Major General
S. E. Udounwa urged the LOC to present Nigeria in a positive way.
“This event is going to put our city in the spotlight, I urge you as members of the LOC to take this into account when you are planning for the games.
“Everything should be very detailed and meticulous from the reception of our guests to when they depart from this country.
“Sports is known to be a tool for social interaction, it also enhances unity among people. It is even more important for us in the Armed Forces because the nature of our job requires that we remain fit at all times and also exchange experiences with other militaries around the world.
“I urge you to be diligent and be very thorough in your planning and I want to assure you of the support of the Chief of Defence Staff.”
UDOUNWA also revealed that 32 countries with 1,562 athletes will take part ompeted in eleven sporting events in that edition.
