A car dealer, Simon Adejoh was on Thursday docked in an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for allegedly swindling his client of two cars worth N1.5 million.
The police charged Adejoh,39, who lives at no 7, Gioni close off, Otunba avenue, Kurudu, Abuja with criminal breach of trust, cheating.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Olanrewaju Osho, told the court that the defendant collected two Honda Accord cars worth N1.5 million from the complainant to sell and pay the proceeds to the owner.
Osho said that the defendant sold the said cars and converted the money to his personal use.
The prosecutor said during police investigation, the defendant admitted and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
Osho said the matter was reported by the complainant, Ms Jemilatu Sani of Karshi, Abuja.
The Judge, Malam Hassan Mohammed, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1.5 million with one surety who must live within the court’s jurisdiction.
Mohammed ordered that the sum of N300,000 must be deposited with the court registry being part of the bail condition.
He adjourned the case until Dec. 16 for further hearing. (NAN)
