The Confederation of African Football has moved the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture between Nigeria and Sudan from June to September.
The U-23 Eagles were scheduled to play Sudan in the first leg, third round qualifying fixture on June 5 in Omdurman.
The return leg is billed to hold four days later at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
The first leg according to a press release made available on Monday by media officer of the team, Sharif Abdallah, will now take place on September 2nd, while the return leg will come up on September 10.
Imama Amapakabo’s men overturned a 2-0 firsg leg deficit to edge out Libya 4-2 on aggregate in the previous round.
Sudan on the other hand defeated Kenya 2-0 on aggregate to secure their passage to the final round of the qualifier.
The top three countries at the AFCON U23 competition that will be hosted by Egypt later in the year will represent the continent in the football event of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Nigeria won the last edition of the competition hosted by Senegal edging out Algeria 2-1 in the final.
The competition will take place in Egypt from 8 to 22 November.
