Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen will battle two other players for the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
The two other players in contention for the award are Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Mohamed Salah of Egypt.
CAF announced the final shortlist on its official X handle on Thursday.
Senegal forward, Sadio Mane, who clinched the award last year failed to make the shortlist.
Osimhen is the overwhelming favourites to succeed the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star.
The 24-year-old led Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years last season.
The forward scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances. READ ALSO:

Osimhen is looking to become the first Nigerian to win the award since Kanu Nwankwo was named the best player on the continent in 1999.
The winner will be revealed at the CAF Awards Gala on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
