Victor Boniface will play no part in Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim on Saturday, according to manager, Xabi Alonso.
Boniface returned to full team training this week after undergoing surgery in January for an adductor injury.
The Nigeria international was expected to return to action in the home clash with Hoffenheim but Alonso has revealed he is not ready for action.
“For Victor Boniface we’ll wait a little longer. The idea is that he will be back in the squad on Wednesday. Exequiel Palacios and Arthur won’t be there tomorrow either,” Alonso told a press conference on Friday.
The 23-year-old has registered 16 goals and eight assists in 23 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
He joined Leverkusen from Belgian Pro League outfit, Union St Gilloise last summer.
