Victor Boniface was on target twice and also bagged an assist as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Hoffenheim 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Boniface set up Martin Terrier for the game’s opening goal on 17 minutes.
The Nigeria international scored the Bundesliga champions second goal on the half hour mark.
It was the 23-year-old’s first Bundesliga goal of the season.
The striker was on target again in the 75th minute.
Boniface saw action for 86 minutes in the thrilling encounter, Prompt News reports.
He was replaced by Czech Republic international Patrick Schick.
His compatriot Nathan Tella was in action for 57 minutes before he was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong.
Hoffenheim paraded their Nigerian defender Kevin Akpoguma for 90 minutes in the game.
