As President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurates the Federal Cabinet on Wednesday, only 25 of the ministers-designate will be named as substantive ministers.
According to Prompt News checks, the federal ministries have been pruned down to 25, suggesting that 11 ministers will not head any of the ministries.
As at the time of filling this report, it is however not clear whether the 11 ministers would be designated as Ministers of State as it is the practice or Ministers without portfolio has been touted in some quarters.
The inauguration of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is scheduled for 10.00 am at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
Already, the President has approved deployment of 36 permanent secretaries with only 25 of them deployed to ministries while others are to serve in the Offices of the SGF, HoS, State House, Special Services, Cabinet, Economic Affairs and Political Affairs.
Meanwhile, no fewer than five ministries have been scrapped. They are Ministries include Aviation, Police Affairs, Land and Housing and Culture and Tourism.
The Ministry of Land and Housing has been merged with Works and now to be known as Ministry of Works and Housing.
National Sports Commission moved to the Ministry of Youth Development and now Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism phased out to give way for Ministry of Information and Culture.
Also, Police Affairs and Special Duties have been scrapped and now under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
In the same vein, the Budget Office which was under the Ministry of Finance has now been moved to National Planning.

15. Fed. Min. of Labour & Productivity
16. Fed. Min of Petroleum Resources
17. Fed. Min of Women Affairs
18. Federal Capital Territory
19. Fed. Min. of Water Resources
20. Fed. Min of Environment
21. Fed. Min. of Niger Delta Affairs
