ABUJA – Federal Cabinet members on Wednesday offered prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari and three of his Ministers that are currently sick.
President Buhari is currently in London, United Kingdom on a 10-day vacation.
His Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, however, said while in London, the President would use the opportunity to see Ear, Nose and Throat (E.N.T) specialist for his persistent ear infection.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir David Lawal, led the ministers in opening prayers prior to the beginning of the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Council Chambers.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who presided over the FEC meeting, had called on the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and the SGF, Babachir Lawal, to offer Muslims and Christians prayers respectively.
But, while the Information Minister prayed to God to grant Cabinet members wisdom to take right decisions for the benefit of the country, the SGF preferred to name Ministers that were not present at Chambers because they were “indisposed”.
The SGF prayed for the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, who according to him “is recuperating in US after a surgery”, Minister of Education and Adamu Adamu, who “is down with back pain”.
He later prayed for the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibrin, when reminded by his Cabinet colleagues.
