Determined to realise his ambition of being a presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, former Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi, has joined the Labour Party.
Mr Obi announced this Friday afternoon via his verified twitter handle @PeterObi.
“Therefore, I have chosen a route that I consider to be in line with our aspirations and my mantra of taking the country from consumption to production; and that is the Labour Party which is synonymous with the people, workers, development, production, securing,” Obi tweeted.
Welcoming him to the party, Labour Party also tweeted “Dear Peter Obi, welcome to the Labour party, the party of productivity.
“Together we will take back Nigeria”.
Prompt News Online reports that Mr Obi dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday, when he formally resigned his membership of the party.
