Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described his former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as President-to-be.
Obasanjo said this when Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 elections, visited him in his Abeokuta, Ogun State home on Thursday.
The Eagle Online reports that the visit, which was still on as at press time, has in attendance the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus; the Director General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; and Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Rev. Father Matthew Kukah, among others in attendance.
Obasanjo said while welcoming his visitors: “Let me congratulate President-to-be, Atiku Abubakar.”
Atiku won the recently held PDP presidential primary, defeating Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Senate President Bukola Saraki and nine other aspirants at the convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
