Former Green Eagles attacker, Paul Ebiye Hamilton, popularly called ‘Wonder Boy’, is dead.
Hamilton, who has been bedridden for some time died in his house at Surulere, Lagos.
He was diagnosed with heart and kidney related problems months before his death.
The coach who is from Bayelsa state had his right leg amputated early this year.
Unfortunately, his former employer, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) turned deaf ears to plea that his pension be paid to take care of his health.
Hamilton retired from public service as NFF Head of Technical Department.
Prompt News had reported earlier in the day that the man was not getting help as his health became critical.
His health took a nosedive after he lost two of his beloved sons in quick succession with the youngest, Preye who was a national Tennis star before travelling to the United States to pursue education and Tennis died in US.
Later, his first son, Timi, a certified engineer died, one death which hit the amiable man like a hurricane.
Recall that Paul Hamilton had the rare task of handling the first national women’s football team, Super Falcons.
He took the team to two FIFA Women’s World cup final in China and Sweden in 1991 and 1995 respectively.
