Taraba State The Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of Mr. Darius Ishaku, as Governor of Taraba state.
Mr Ishaku, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 11, 2015 Governorship election was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and was subsequently sworn in on May 29.
But, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Aisha Jummai Alhassan, popularly called ‘Mama Taraba’ had approached the Tribunal asking it to nullify the election.
Delivering judgment on Saturday in Abuja, the Tribunal chairman, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, declared Aisha Alhassan as the lawfully elected governor of Taraba state.
