A new Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State has been announced. He is Prince Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, from the Gbaase Ruling House.
His appointment which was announced by Osun State Government was sequel to completion of due process by the King Makers.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the appointment, a statement issued in the early hours of Monday by the Secretary to Osun State Government, Mr. Moshood Adeoti said.
The letter dated November 9, 2015, and titled “Appointment of a New Oluwo of Iwo” reads:
“The Governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, has approved the appointment of the new Oluwo of Iwo.
“He is Prince Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, of the Gbaase Ruling House of Iwo, State of Osun.
“This choice follows completion of the due process by the King Makers and the communication of their decision to the Government”.
