By Paul Effiong The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Hon. James Faleke, running mate to late Abubakar Audu, challenging the election of Yahaya Bello as the Governor of Kogi state.
Consequently, the Apex Court in a unanimous decision on Tuesday, affirmed Yahaya Bello as the duly elected Governor of Kogi state.
The Court also dismissed the appeal filed by the immediate past Governor of the state, Idris Wada, who was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the election.
However, the Court said reasons for the judgment would be given on September 30, 2016.
Prompt News Online recalls that Hon. Faleke, had challenged the election of Governor Bello at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and Court of Appeal but lost.
